My personal story
Life, Faith, Confidence
Hello, My name is Bernadette Hendrickson and I would like to welcome you to my Blog. Just a little bit about me and how I ended up at this moment in time.
For the past 20 years I have worked in the public school system. I have worked everything from playground aide to special education classroom aide. Then I worked my way through attendance secretary and records clerk, an administrative assistant to truancy and and have settled recently into the role as administrative assistant to social emotional learning and behavior support.
I have a bachelors degree in fine art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from San Diego State University.
Now that I am done with the stiff necked stuff...

I have been a story teller and writer all my life and never knew it. I can remember trying to go to sleep on hot summer days in Ohio, when the humidity was so high you would sweat just laying there. My brother and sisters would be tossing and turning and struggling to go to sleep, and one night I offered to tell them a story to help distract us from our misery. Story time was born, and that became the process ever night after that.

Writing was a little bit more subtle. I am one of those crazy people who still likes to write letters. You would think I would have recognized that I'm not normal, but note the art degree above. Added to that at the age of 11, I was told that I, "marched to the beat of a different drummer," so my letter writing was not out of character. Then five years ago I had a family member become very ill. In an effort to keep them entertained, I started writing a small chapter book about our crazy cat. I would send them a chapter a week, and before I knew it I had a book, and then another one. It was with the last little chapter book that something unusual happened. At the end of the second book I met my first Magi.
With my two little unpublished books under my belt I thought, wouldn't it be fun to write about something bigger. Now here I sit with almost two complete novels and I am excited to share that journey with you. Enjoy
